School Supply Volunteers
Sign up to help with all things school-supply-related for the 2019/20 school year:
July 13, 2019
1:00pm to 3:00pm: a small team of volunteers (with vehicle space for supplies) is needed to transport the school supplies currently housed at the FIT Closet over to Manhattan High School - West Campus.
3:30pm to 5:00pm: 20 volunteers are needed to "Un-Stuff The Bus" and carry/cart all collected school supplies off the stuffed-full school bus and into the Little Theatre. The school bus will depart from Walmart at 3:00pm with an ETA at MHSW at 3:30pm.
We’ll likely stay and begin unpackaging supplies that need to be separated into individual quantities. Feel free to stay just until the bus is un-stuffed…or longer…it’s up to you!
July 15 to July 19
Volunteers will meet in the Little Theatre to finish up supply organization and pre-bag supplies by grade level, in preparation for distribution on July 26th (Central Enrollment).
July 26, 2019
7am to 7pm - 2 hour shifts: Volunteers will interact with students and parents, helping each student pick out a grade-appropriate backpack and giving each student a bag filled with their grade level supplies. VOLUNTEERS FOR THESE SHIFTS MUST BE COLLEGE-AGE OR OLDER - NO EXCEPTIONS.
7pm to 9pm: Volunteers will pack up remaining supplies and return them to the FIT Closet (so vehicles are needed). Remaining supplies will be stashed in the school supply closet for students who enroll mid-year.
