Monthly Stats

Why all the critical needs?

The FIT Closet operates 100% on donations. We receive no monies from the school district, city, county, state, or federal entity. We rely on the generosity of Manhattan-Ogden community members - like you - to keep our bins and shelves stocked! We want to be 100% transparent with how we spend the $$ donated to us.

Everything our shoppers have access to at the FIT Closet has been donated, or has been purchased with donated monies. Every article of clothing available to our shoppers (aside from socks & underwear) comes solely from donations of new or gently used clothing. We do not set limits on how many articles of clothing someone can take, but we do ask shoppers to be cognizant of the fact that we serve 100+ families each month.

So, if we’re not spending $$ on clothing, where exactly do we spend the donated monies? That’s a great question - glad you asked! The majority of donated money is spent on the items listed in the “monthly snapshots” below. A small percentage of monies are spent on operating expenses (i.e., monthly phone/internet bill, copy paper, copier ink, masking tape, sandwich, quart, gallon and 2-gallon Ziploc bags, trash bags, hand soap, paper towels, and misc. cleaning supplies to keep the FIT Closet organized and clean).

The following monthly snapshots use data collected from our “shopping list.” Each shopper has the option to fill out a shopping list when they make their once-a-month visit to the FIT Closet. One of our faithful volunteers - Erma - tabulates these shopping lists at the end of each month and generates a report. For those who like the numbers - this page is for you!
